Week 7: Where I've actually got to
Week 7 · 16 October 2026 · Data Structures (数据结构), Tsinghua University · XuetangX
Checkpoint session. Built this website and reviewed my progress so far.
1. What I worked on
Set up this site (Hexo + Fluid theme on GitHub Pages) and mapped out what I’ve covered across five sessions.
2. What was challenging, and how I handled it
Stepping back from the course content to take stock. It’s easy to keep watching the next video, so I used this session to review what I’ve covered so far: course selection, computation theory, Turing machines. Seeing the whole thing laid out made the progression through Chapter 1 clearer than it felt week by week. Setting up the site meant choosing a structure that’s easy to maintain: journal entries by week, a resources page, and a learner bio placeholder for Semester 2.
3. How well I ran my own learning
Self-score: 100
I decided to build this site and do a checkpoint review without being asked. Nobody assigned this; I wanted to see where I am before the semester goes further.
4. What I’ll do differently next session
Start submitting to the online judge. The next topics (RAM model, big-O) should have code exercises. Also keep up the routine of reviewing notes before each Friday.
